Questions & Answers
Why should I buy this instead of cheaper fertilizer from my local hardware store?
Our fertilizers last longer! Less applications needed and lower quantities spread per application, giving you more product value.
What is slow-release fertilizer?
You have 2 different types of slow-release fertilizers. Polymer Coated Urea (PCU) PROTURF and methylene urea (MU) SIERRAFORM. PCU releases nutrients in a controlled way via H2O concentration levels. Methylene urea (MU) releases nutrients via microbes in the soil breaking down the chains that make it up.
So, to sum the answers here: When you water PCU fertilizer it fills with water and as the soil drys out it releases nutrients nutrients slowly until it is watered or rained on again.
MU Fertilizer work by soil borne microbes
“noonoos” feeding on the granules breaking them down releasing the nutrients that are tied up in specially made chemical chains.
As a home owner how will this product benefit me?
It is safe to use and will not burn when applied correctly. Lasts longer than conventional fertilizers with great results.
How often do I apply your fertilizer?
Every 6 to 8 weeks.
Will it burn my lawn?
It will not burn if applied correctly. Don’t apply on wet or when there is due on the turf.
Measure out the area you want to fertilize.
Then weigh out the fertilizer so you apply the right amount to the area measured.
6 meters x 5 meters = 30meters squared
Apply 25grams per square meter.
So 30m2 x 0.025kg = 0.75kg
Therefore, apply 750grams of Fertilizer evenly over the 30m2
Isn't organic better?
Organic fertilizer is great; however, it does not release nutrients with the same precision.
Organic fertilizer can also be smelly and not ideal when you have guests over or pets that like to roll in it as soon as it is applied.
Organic fertilizer has its place especially if you need to increase your microbial activity in your garden and lawn.
How doesn't your fertilizer effect the environment and ecosystem?
It has no negative effect to the environment or the ecosystem, it is really good for the environment and ecosystem as it encourages healthy and steady growth to the plant, little to no loss through volatilization and /or leaching because of its superior technology.
Is it safe for my pets and children at home?
Yes, it is safe once applied. Keep it out of reach as it shouldn’t be ingested.
How do I apply it?
Fertilizing a lawn is very simple. In fact, a typical subdivision lawn will take less than 20 minutes. Here’s how to do it.
- Water your lawn.
A few days before you feed your lawn, give it a good watering. That will help ensure your soil is ready to accept lawn fertilizer. - Pick the best spreader for your lawn.
Spreaders fall into two main categories: broadcast and drop. Adjust spreader settings. Each fertilizer product has a unique spreader setting for correct coverage. Check the bag to make sure you’re selecting the proper setting for your individual spreader. - Apply grass fertilizer around the perimeter.
Feeding around the perimeter first will allow you to fertilize the rest of the lawn without worrying about missing any of the edges. avoid getting fertilizer on sidewalks, or on driveways. - Fill in the middle.
Similar to a mowing pattern, feed your lawn by walking back and forth in straight lines while slightly overlapping with each pass. - Properly handle remaining product.
Once you’ve finished fertilizing your lawn, return any unused product to the bag and store it for future uses. Be sure to keep it in a cool, dry place away from pets and children.
Why Fertilize?
Just like we need more nutrients than water can provide to survive, so does your lawn. Feeding your lawn 4 times a year helps it stay green and grow thick. Maintaining a thick, lush lawn helps prevent weed seeds from sprouting and moving in.
If you have no other way to do it, you can certainly spread it by hand. Just make sure to use gloves and apply it very carefully. Walk backward, throwing fertilizer out as you go in a sweeping motion. Of course, you can use water-soluble or liquid fertilizers with a hose too.
When should I apply fertilizer?
Spring, summer and autumn.
How can order your fertilizer?
